SKU: 3006 OverviewW.G.F. Jansen, Harlingen 1871-1949 Blaricum. Before settling in Blaricum as a free painter in 1908, W.G.F. Jansen as a decorative painter at the Rozenburg porcelain factory in The Hague and as a pottery designer in Gouda. His work can be characterized as a second bloom of the Hague School. He particularly admired Jacob Maris, which is reflected in his smooth brushwork and love for the pure Dutch landscape. He painted sea and beach views, intimate farmyards, river views under high skies, meadows and quiet heathlands with sheep. He was widely praised for his highly developed sense of color nuances, especially in colored whites, greens and grays. Museums: Singermuseum Laren and Zuiderzeemuseum in Enkhuizen.
