Jan Loots

Jan Loots, born 02/25/1899, died 08/16/1990 was a Haarlem artist. Jan was educated at the Rijksnormaalschool voor Teekenonderwijs, and at the Rijksacademie voor Beeldende Kunsten, both in Amsterdam. He was a painter, watercolorist, draftsman and pen artist. He mainly painted and drew landscapes, still lifes, portraits and worked after models. Around 1925 he also made a beautiful mosaic on commission in the Nieuwe St. Bavokerk in Haarlem. Jan Loots was also a member of the artists' society Kunst Zij Ons Doel (KZOD).
